“Access Control” refers to the ability to limit, and document, who enters your home. You’ve probably seen these types of systems at businesses or other facilities. Employees and visitors are given a badge or a card that they swipe to unlock a door.

Each member of the family has an access control “credential” that could be a card, a keyfob like your keyless car remote, or a small electronic button that they attach to a wallet, purse or other item they frequently carry.
