“Access Control” refers to the ability to limit, and document, who enters your home. You’ve probably seen these types of systems at businesses or other facilities. Employees and visitors are given a badge or a card that they swipe to unlock a door.

Home security systems increasingly include access control features, providing you with better control of your home. Each member of the family has an access control “credential” that could be a card, a keyfob like your keyless car remote, or a small electronic button that they attach to a wallet, purse or other item they frequently carry.

The family member just passes their credential over the alarm system keypad to arm or disarm it. You can also give a credential to service providers, like lawn care or home cleaning crew members. Your system will give them access only at the times you specify, and make a record of when they arrived and left.

Access control is a powerful feature that SecuSmart can easily include in your home security system.
